How often to have boiler maintenance done
It is important to have boiler maintenance carried out annually so that the boiler continues to work as optimally as possible.
How does boiler maintenance work?
During periodic maintenance, the boiler is checked, cleaned and also adjusted again by an experienced technician. Deviations are immediately addressed during maintenance and broken parts are renewed. The technician also checks that there are no carbon monoxide leaks.
Central heating boiler maintenance costs
The costs for periodic maintenance vary and are a maximum of €175-€200 per year. The costs depend on the type of maintenance contract. It is therefore good to adequately assess which type of maintenance contract is most relevant to you. This way, you may be able to save on maintenance costs.
Central heating boiler maintenance contract
A maintenance contract is a contract for the periodic maintenance of the boiler. As mentioned earlier, maintenance costs depend on the type of maintenance contract. There are different contract types, but two well-known types are the basic package and the all-in package. Depending on your wishes and preferences, you can choose the contract that best suits your personal situation.
It is advantageous to conclude a maintenance contract, as it often covers call-out costs, labor costs for maintenance and failure, and material costs. Exactly what is covered and what is not covered, however, depends on the type of contract!
Gas Boiler Act
The Gas Boiler Act means that every mechanic and company that works on gas combustion installations must have a Carbon Monoxide Certificate of Expertise. This will be mandatory as of October 1, 2020. Only when they are certified CO-FREE is it possible to work on gas combustion installations.

Need a new boiler?
After 12-15 years, boiler maintenance is no longer useful and a boiler must be replaced. This is because after this period, the boiler ages and no relatively high efficiency can be achieved. An old boiler therefore consumes 20% more gas than a new boiler. Replacing the boiler can ensure that a high efficiency of up to 99% can be achieved again. Not entirely unimportant, therefore, to replace the boiler when necessary.
